“People remember the experience. Making that enjoyable is the result of careful planning and a commitment to doing things that work.”

The secret to CSI’s success? You may be surprised…

For my first blog I wanted to share my approach to construction and my formula for success throughout the years. “Process” is not an overly exciting word when compared to the thrill of moving into a new building—that final result that gets the most “ooohs” and “aaahs.” Yet, the real secret to our success is the careful coordination of the entire process, from the initial planning and design, through the construction work, to the final coat of paint in the last room. Again, no one gets excited when I talk about “process,” but it’s what people remember. I tried to think of words that best describe this process, and “professional collaboration” quickly came to mind. It’s this strong commitment to clear communication with the various parties involved in the process: from clients and vendors, to architects and engineers, to city building officials. It sounds like a lot to deliver, but CSI has really honed its working process over the years, fine-tuning details from A to Z, of what works best for all parties involved. For us, it’s the execution of the process that we find to be as rewarding as the finished product. For our clients and other stakeholders, it’s the experience.

“What is the difference in construction companies? Quality construction? Meeting budgets and timelines? Energy savings? Customer experience? They all matter. They are all important. We call that difference the ‘CSI process.’ ”
