BUILDING GREEN

“Building Green is not only the wave of the future, it a great way for people to make a positive contribution to their world community.”

You could say that Building Green is a movement.
In many areas Building Green is now a requirement and no longer an option. Let CSI help you navigate this forest of Green Building options and requirements.

For the last 25 years CSI has designed and built homes and buildings with an emphasis on energy conservation and sustainability. Carl Sandusky’s first green building project was in 1977 for the Department of Housing and Urban Development Solar Energy Program H-2570, for a Residential Integrated Project Demonstration at the Boulder Senior Citizen Center, Walnut Place, in Boulder, Colorado.

Mr. Sandusky also studied Solar Technology in the College of Environmental Design at the University of Colorado.

CSI believes that building green simply combines desire, knowledge, inspiration and a little commitment to incorporate these concepts and practices.

CSI incorporates Passive Energy Systems and Green Building techniques into every structure we build. We define “passive” as the affordable integration of energy conservation, sustainability and green building. This integration starts in the conceptual stage of the project and is carried through discussions, design, construction and user orientation.

Everything is considered: site selection, design of the architectural envelope, including building shape and orientation, specification of building components and systems, selection of renewable and sustainable materials and their composition.

“Every day the sun showers the earth with several thousand times as much energy as we consume. The solar energy reaching the earth every three days is greater than the estimated total of all the fossil fuels on earth. In fact, the solar energy annually striking the roof of a typical residence is ten times as great as its annual heat demand.”
